Layout Dawton New Street is a freelance layout constructed in 2mm/ft scale and built with N gauge code 55 track. The layout is continuous, featuring a double track main line, a four-platform station and loops for holding freight trains etc. Ten storage sidings are out of sight of the viewing area and can hold a maximum of twenty trains. A Motive Power Depot is centrally placed and can accommodate in the region of fourteen locomotives.
Layout SizeThe layout measures 9ft x 3ft and requires a minimum operating area of 12ft x 6ft. Power RequirementsPower requirements are a minimum of one 13A socket. Transport and OperatorsThe layout can be transported in one car and needs a minimum of two operators. Three operators are required to ensure the layout operates to its full potential during lunch breaks etc. If three operators are required then additional transport will be necessary. Operating PeriodsRolling stock dates from the 1970s to the present day. The layout is generally operated either in the 1970/80s period or the 1990’s to 2006.
