If any faults found are attributable to a
failure in our process the deposit of course will be refunded
immediately. If not, the deposit will be retained, however a
written report including appropriate recommendations will be
issued detailing problems identified and suggested remedial
action.
Please note that, in the
course of the investigation, it may be necessary for skirting
boards to be removed, small drill holes to be made in the wall/s
in question and also for samples of plaster to be taken for
laboratory tests.
In order that you do not
waste money unnecessarily, there are a number of simple checks we
would advise you to make, set out on the checklist below.

Re-inspection Check List
|
I |
Have any of the gutters
or downpipes become displaced or broken, leading to water
running down and into the walls? |
. |
|
II |
Are any of the gutters
blocked, causing water to run down the wall and is the sealing
around the windows and door frames watertight, and preventing
driven-in rain from seeping into the walls? |
. |
|
III |
Has the damp-proof
course (subsequent to installation) been overlapped (bridged)
by rendering work, or by raising the outside ground level? |
. |
|
IV |
Do you have a leaking
overflow or outside tap? |
. |
|
V |
Do you have any internal
leaks from plumbing? (check particularly the hose connections
on dishwashers and washing machines?) |
. |
|
VI |
Condensation is also a
problem and some of the ready indicators of this are liquid
water on windows and window sills, steaming up of the windows,
and mould growth (green or black spots), usually in corners
e.g. behind wardrobes. |
. |
If you are comfortable that
none of these problems relate to your complaint, then please print
out (or request a claim from our office) and fill a claim form and
post in to our office with the deposit requested and APP will
